Job Function  


Provide technical and professional leadership regarding applicable HSE regulations and issues specifically for the plant, but also throughout the corporation and ensure regulatory and corporate compliance via established auditing processes and risk analysis.

Provide the leadership to develop and implement programs, plans and procedures for meeting and exceeding Health & Safety Performance goals, including OSHA, Toxic Substances Control, Federal and State rules and regulations, NFPA.

Responsible with managing the facility security.  

Lead hazard assessment activities including Process Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis.

Develop, coordinate, and implement appropriate Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Process Safety Programs and necessary related training.

Provide input and give direction to management on critical Health and Safety issues and develop strategic directions. 

Facilitate and coordinate HSE committee activities and function as community liaison.

Develop, implement and test emergency response plans and keep them current.

Liaison with all functional areas within the company to assure Safety, Security, Physical and Environmental and asset conservation issues are fully understood and executed.

Assure HSE record keeping system provides timely reporting to both internal and to external agencies.

Manage HSE projects and programs in a cost-effective manner.

Participate as an auditor in the Corporate HSE audit program.

Attend training and seminars necessary to maintain proficiency in EHS/HSE/SHE skills and knowledge.


Job Requirements

HSE - Health, Safety, Environmental and Risk Manager for Metal Manufacturing

 


Bachelors Degree, Occupational Health & Safety major preferred, however BS in Engineering or Business related discipline will be acceptable with the proper experience.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.

Minimum five years manufacturing environment experience, preferably as an HSE Manager or HSE Director or leading Environmental and Safety effort in a metallic, steel or heavy industry in a safety capacity.

Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA & NFPA requirements and local and state regulations are a must.

This is a newly created position within a medical claims processing organization (1500 employees). This position requires one or more security related certifications and previous experience writing policy for a mid to large multisite organization that was subjected to security audits and questionaires and was required to conform to regulatory and best practice guidelines like HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, FIMA, SAS70.   The successful candidate will not only understand security from an infrastructure perspective, but will come from a company with internal application development team and will also understand security from an applications (SDLC) standpoint.  Client is not looking for an IT Manager who does it all.  They are looking for someone whose focus and passion is security.  This job is 20% staff supervision, 20% project mgmt, 25% hands on testing, 35% policy creation, enforcement and training.
